Kitchen Revamp – Wingrave

My clients brief was to refresh her kitchen in a couple of key spaces without changing the current over all vibe too much.

The design dilemmas taken from our interiors intro appointment were

We need to revamp the hall stairs and landing to flow in with the rest downstairs space but also give it some wow factor

This is a busy family so it was vital to choose a carpet that was hardwearing, looked modern and fresh but pet friendly!

From a safety point of view, the client was keen to remove the dated stair handrail but we still needed to incorporate something that you could hold onto if necessary when using the stairs

The large kitchen window looked out onto the garden but it was looking a little unfinished so a new blind was required to transform this space and also help to pull the room together with its complementary colour scheme

So fresh new accessories were required to elevate the existing sofa area and window cill

I love these quick-fix interior design projects because they focus on not always about having to completely change the layout of a room to make a big impact.

I’m a big advocate of repurposing items and working with current pieces of furniture so you don’t have to buy everything brand new! I don’t think us interior designers shout about that enough to our potential clients!

It can massively help with a client’s budget but also makes the project much more sustainable. This project was all about introducing some new colour in the bones of a fabulous kitchen

From our successful interiors intro session, my client was able to offload her interior “To Do” list onto me and we came up with a fabulous interior design plan!

My client took advantage of my Samples package with an extra add-on of a personal shopping experience to choose items from John Lewis

We spent a couple of hours exploring the store and left with

Fabric for blinds ✔️
Cushions purchased ✔️
Wallpaper chosen ✔️
Artwork purchased ✔️

Job done!

It was then on to using my little black book of trades to ensure we had my trusty carpenter to build some panelling, the amazing Iliana to make the beautiful blind and carpet suppliers to fit the gorgeous new carpet

I helped pull this together with some fantastic new styling accessories for the kitchen window sill which complimented the stunning blind and showcase wallpaper

We were really struggling with ideas on how to redecorate our hall stairs and landing. Our downstairs space is very open plan so it was just too overwhelming. Kim worked really hard with us to come up with lots of different ideas. She really listened to what we liked and didn’t. We could see how much hard work and time went into creating the space for use. She made it very easy for us. The way she used the color and fabrics bringing it all together for us was just so impressive.
